Junior Process Engineer Research & Technology – Urmond

We are currently recruiting for the position of Process Engineer at the Fibrant Research & Technology (R&T) department in Geleen. It is Fibrant’s ambition to improve and further develop our technology to deliver high-end sustainable solutions to our customers. Our global R&T group drives the innovation of Caprolactam technology and supports our production sites in the Netherlands and China. To extend our development team, we are looking for a Process Engineer to lead and be part of projects across the different business sections.

You will be part of a diverse and dynamic team, with a primary focus on applied research and technology development to further improve the world-class sustainability of Fibrant’s EcoLactam®, the building block of Nylon-6.



Our story begins in 1952, when we commissioned our first factory for the production of Caprolactam in The Netherlands. Nowadays, Fibrant is part of HSCC (also known as Highsun Group China). This makes our group the largest Caprolactam and Ammonium Sulfate producer in the world with production facilities in The Netherlands (Geleen) and China (Fuzhou and Nanjing).

From our headquarters in the chemical heart of the Netherlands, Fibrant aims to be the undisputed market leader in Caprolactam, Cyclohexanone, and Ammonium Sulfate. EcoLactam® is our new and extraordinary generation of products with a world-class carbon footprint(CFP). Fibrant serves via her valued business partners the majority of all textile, automotive, food packaging, and agricultural value chains. All rely on Fibrant’s high-quality and sustainable products.

In the Netherlands, Fibrant employs a staff of 350 employees, located at the head office in Urmond and the Chemelot-site in Geleen. Key responsibilities and behaviors

As a Process Engineer at the R&T department, you will use your chemical and engineering background to improveexisting processes and develop new process steps and equipment. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will haveto generate and evaluate ideas, and develop options and solutions to address the current and future sustainabilitychallenges. Your projects will be a combination of mid-to-long-term R&D and short-term plant support for ourproduction sites in the Netherlands and China.

The R&T Group is a global team of 30 colleagues innovating the Nylon-6 technology and supporting the productionsites in the Netherlands and China. You will be working across different project teams within the R&T departmentwith the main focus on sustainability research. As a team member, you are passionate to solve challenging researchquestions by combining process knowledge, information from plant operations, lab experiments, and analyses.

In this job, you will report to the Director R&T and will be working at our R&T office and labs in Geleen (theNetherlands).
